Simple biscuits that will stick to your rib cage. Travel well in a kerchief.

INGREDIENTS
2 cups self-rising flour
1 1/4 cups buttermilk (add a little more if needed)
1/3 cup butter-flavored Crisco or lard
STEPS
1) Preheat oven to 425°F. Put the Crisco (or lard) in a cast-iron skillet and place it in the oven until melted.
2) In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour and buttermilk.
3) Carefully pour the hot melted Crisco/lard into the flour mixture. Stir just until combined – do not overmix.
4) Bake 12-15 minutes, until golden brown on top.
