It is believed to be an American variation of the French Croque Monsieur sandwich and gained popularity after being featured on restaurant menus in California, particularly Disneyland&#8217;s Blue Bayou restaurant, in the mid-20th century.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Servings: 1 (9&#215;13-inch) casserole<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">INGREDIENTS<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">7 large eggs<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1 1\/3 cups half-and-half<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">4 teaspoons Dijon mustard<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1 1\/2 teaspoons kosher salt<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1\/2 teaspoon black pepper<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">8 slices deli smoked ham (1\/4-inch thick)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">8 slices deli smoked turkey (1\/4-inch thick)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">8 slices Swiss cheese<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">8 day-old croissants, halved horizontally<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Cooking spray<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">2 tablespoons seedless raspberry jam<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1 tablespoon pure maple syrup<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Powdered sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">STEPS<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Whisk the egg custard:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1) Whisk the eggs, half-and-half, mustard, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until smooth. Set aside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Assemble the casserole:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1) Lightly grease a 13&#215;9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Place 1 slice of the ham, 1 slice of the turkey, and 1 slice of the Swiss cheese (folding ham, turkey, and cheese to fit, if needed) on the bottom half of each croissant. Cover with the top halves. Place the stuffed croissants in the baking dish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Pour the egg mixture over the croissants. Cover with aluminum foil, and chill for 8 hours or up to 12 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Bake:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1) Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Bake, covered, for 15 minutes. Uncover and continue to bake until the tops of the croissants are golden brown and the egg mixture is almost set, about 20 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">Make the drizzle, garnish, and serve:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\">1) Stir the jam and maple syrup in a small bowl until smooth.
