
Lizzie’s is a restaurant and patisserie located at 105 East Main Street in downtown New Iberia, LA. It is designed to feel like a “cozy grandmother’s kitchen” mixed with a “whimsical wonderland,” operating as a pastry shop by day and a dinner and cocktail haven by night.

The restaurant is a collaboration between New Iberia native Elizabeth Shensky Hansen and her husband, Chef Erik Hansen. Skip and Pam Shensky, are well-known in the local culinary scene as the founders of Caribbean Ice Company, which opened in 2001.

Elizabeth studied European-style baking at the Apicius Culinary School in Florence, Italy, and worked in New York and New England before returning home. Erik Hansen also brought extensive culinary experience from New York and Boston. Originally envisioned as a casual café, the concept evolved into a specialized patisserie and dinner destination, officially opening in mid-2025.
