It is housed within the opulent, 1,000-room Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, a 16th-century noble palace still inhabited and managed by descendants of the princely Doria Pamphilj family.   • The Velázquez Cabinet: A dedicated chamber displaying the absolute crown jewel of the collection: Diego Velázquez’s fiercely realistic Portrait of Pope Innocent X (1650). It sits alongside a famous marble portrait bust of the same Pope sculpted by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. 
  • Early Caravaggio Masterworks: The museum proudly holds major early paintings by Caravaggio, including Rest on the Flight into Egypt and the Penitent Magdalene.

  • Admission & Tickets: Standard tickets cost €16.00 at the door or €17.00 when booked online. Booking directly on the Official Doria Pamphilj Ticket Portal is highly recommended to skip line delays. Children under 12 enter for free (€1.00 fee if booking online).
